8:00 AM - 12:00 Noon
Differential Response in child protective services is emerging across the United States and internationally as a new way of organizing the response to child maltreatment so that organizations have a choice in how to respond to child safety and well-being concerns.
Abstract
Differential Response (DR) in child protective services is emerging across the United States as a new way of organizing the response to child maltreatment so that agencies have a choice in how to respond to child safety and well-being concerns. An increasing number of states and localities are establishing differential response systems. A number of these efforts include research to document the results. Funded by the Children's Bureau and led by American Humane Association, the National Qualitity Improvement Center on Differential Response in Child Protective Services (QIC-DR) is conducting randomized control trial evaluations of DR in Colorado, Illinois, and Ohio, adding to the evaluations from Missouri and Minnesota.
