As one of the nation's top destinations, San Diego is a city that knows how to entertain. From world-class attractions like the San Diego Zoo, Sea World San Diego, and LEGOLAND California, to Balboa Park, Old Town, Coronado Island, and the downtown Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego can provide an exceptional visit experience.
Petco Park is home to the San Diego Padres. Qualcomm Stadium is home to the San Diego Chargers and San Diego State University Aztecs football teams. Sea World, Mission Bay, Old Town, and many other San Diego attractions are within easy access. The trolley goes to the U.S. border for those wanting to visit Tijuana and can also drop you off at the El Cajon Travel Center for connections to several different casinos.
Other attractions include Mission San Diego de Alcala (photo at left), located in Mission Valley. The mission was founded on July 16, 1769 by Father Junipero Serra, the first of 21 missions established throughout California.
Mission Valley serves as an important shopping and entertainment center for San Diego. Three major shopping malls are located in Mission Valley: Fashion Valley Mall, Hazard Center Mall and Westfield Mission Valley.
